WHY SCOOTABLE EXISTS
Divorce can stop people in their tracks.
ScootAble reminds them they can move forward.
ScootAble began with a simple truth: divorce can turn your entire world upside down.
When someone close to me began her divorce journey, I witnessed firsthand how overwhelming and isolating the process can be. Suddenly there were legal questions, financial stress, emotional pain, and countless decisions, ALL HAPPENING AT ONCE.
The best way I can describe divorce is this:
It’s like someone turning the lights off in a room full of obstacles and telling you to find the light switch again.
You’re expected to navigate unfamiliar systems, make life changing decisions, and somehow keep moving forward often without clear guidance or support.
And yet, people do move forward.
I watched someone I love do exactly that. With resilience, courage, and determination, she began rebuilding her life one step at a time.
Walking alongside her through that journey revealed something powerful:
Too many people going through divorce are left to figure it all out alone.
ScootAble was created to change that.
We are a mutual aid nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals as they rebuild their lives during and after divorce, especially those who fall through the cracks of traditional systems.
At ScootAble, we believe no one should have to navigate one of life’s most difficult transitions without support.
Our work centers on providing practical help, compassionate guidance, and community so people can stabilize, heal, and move forward.
Mutual aid means we don’t wait for permission to help.
We come together as a community to share resources, support one another, and ensure people have what they need to keep going whether that means access to information, emotional support, or direct assistance during difficult moments.
Because healing after divorce takes more than advice.
It takes community, compassion, and real support.
At ScootAble, we believe every person deserves the chance to rebuild their life with dignity and hope.
And our message to every divorcee navigating this journey is simple:
You are worthy.
You are capable.
You are ABLE to SCOOT forward.
You are ScootAble.
And we’re here to move forward together.

A Friend & Supporter In-Chief
